I offer honest, informed, independent testing for brands, startups and PR agencies ahead of consumer tech launches.
Whether you’re bringing a physical product, a wearable, an app or a digital experience to market, I test it as both a journalist and a real person living with it in the real world, looking not just at how the press will receive it but at whether the product and experience are as good as they can be before launch.
This is entirely separate from my work as a tech journalist. Everything is for internal use only, covered by NDA, and has no bearing on any editorial coverage.
Every engagement is tailored to what you need. Here’s what a typical project includes:
A one hour onboarding call
A written review for internal use (typically 1200 to 1500 words)
A usability survey covering functionality and experience
Feedback on your media materials, messaging and positioning
Additional consultancy on request, including trend reports, state of the market briefings and content strategy

What makes me different?
I’m not just a reviewer. I have a background in PR and strategic marketing, which means I understand what you need from this process as well as what journalists need from a product.
I also bring a neurodiverse perspective to everything I test, which surfaces usability issues that standard testing often misses.
And I think deeply about consumer behaviour, emerging trends and where technology is heading — work I explore through my newsletter The Future Hunter and more than 15 years of writing about tech and behaviour.
So alongside the hands-on testing, you get a perspective that’s grounded in the broader market, not just the product in front of me.
